Your GTM Audit, Automated
Here's a fast way to check your GTM health in minutes.

When did you last audit your tracking setup?
Not a mental note that you should. An actual review - tags firing correctly, triggers configured right, variables pulling what you think they're pulling.
For most people, the honest answer is: it's been a while. For many, it's never.
For most of us, the economics just don't make sense.
Until recently, a real audit meant finding someone with the right expertise - not easy or cheap to do - giving them access to everything, and waiting. Then they'd come back with a list of things that needed fixing. And fixing those things cost more time and money than the audit itself.
The whole process felt like paying someone to tell you what's wrong with your house, then paying them more to fix it.
So most people skip it. They add it to the "when things slow down" list.
That list never clears.
Your tracking could be working against you right now
Tags get added and forgotten. Triggers fire when they shouldn't. Configurations that were set up correctly two years ago are quietly drifting today. Consent modes updated. GA4 settings changed. The way platforms fire events evolved.
Your setup has probably changed in ways you haven't verified. And the less you've checked it, the less confidence you can have in what it's telling you.
What a modern GTM audit actually looks like
One of the things we are releasing during the MCP for Marketers workshop is a GTM audit skill - a set of instructions that using the MCP server connects directly to your Google Tag Manager and runs a 33-question checklist.
Here's what it evaluates:
- Account setup and container configuration
- Tag implementation and consistency
- Trigger logic and conditional firing
- Variable configuration
- Overall setup health
Each of the 33 questions gets graded: Pass, Needs Attention, Fail, or Not Applicable. You get an overall score, a breakdown by category, and a prioritized list of what to address first.
The whole thing runs in minutes.

What this changes for agencies
If you work with clients, the audit conversation is familiar. They need it. Nobody wants to budget for it. Now you can run one at the start of any project. Use it as a conversation starter. Build it into your onboarding. Have something concrete to show a prospect about the state of their setup before you even pitch the work.
What used to be a high-friction, high-cost deliverable can become a standard part of how you operate.
This is just one piece of the workshop
The GTM audit skill is one example of what MCP enables. There's more in the MCP for Marketers workshop on June 25. I've seen what we've built, and we're going to over-deliver on this one. Training, templates, supplemental materials - everything designed to get you past understanding the concept and into actually using the tools.
Registration closes this Friday, June 19.

Claude 301 for Marketers
Thursday, Jun 18, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM EDT
In the 301 we step into Claude Code, the more advanced mode that lives inside the desktop app. We're not opening a terminal (that's the 401, and most marketers don't need it). We're using Claude Code's GUI mode to build real workflows: custom Skills you save and re-run forever, tasks that run on a schedule, and agents that connect your whole stack end-to-end.
