You Have to Know What Your Data Should Say

Last Thursday, Julie ran the third session in our AI-Ready Data series.

The topic: validating your GA4 data before you hand it to AI.

Here's why that matters more than most people realize.

When you ask AI to pull a number from your analytics, it answers.

Confidently.

Whether it's right or wrong.

There's no hesitation, no caveat, no "I'm not sure about this one." It just gives you a number.

Julie put it plainly on the call: "Sometimes you tell AI ‘I need you to go grab this exact metric’… and it gives you something completely bogus… that’s why you have to be able to look at AI outputs critically and know your data."

That's the whole game. You have to know what "right" looks like with your data to hold AI accountable.

The AI-Ready Data series started because we noticed so many people asking AI to interpret their data, and then were getting burned in front of clients by trusting the outputs blindly.

The fix isn't complicated. It's mostly logic checks.

For example: you can never have more 10-second visitors than total visitors. If your data shows that, something's broken.

Or when two adjacent steps in your funnel show identical values, that usually means one tracking signal quietly stopped firing, and another is covering for it.

Neither of these require a PhD in data science… They're sanity checks any of us can run.

As Julie said: "You have to be knowledgeable enough and confident enough in your data… for you to be able to talk to AI about your data."

That's the skill: Knowing your numbers well enough to catch AI when it's wrong.

This Thursday, August 13 at 12 PM ET, Julie is running a live 90-minute workshop where she audits a real dashboard on screen — what to fix first and why. Plus 30 minutes of Q&A.

You leave with a completed audit, a prioritized fix-first plan, the AI-Ready Data Audit Checklist, and an AI Prompt Starter Pack.

Register now and you also get immediate access to all three recorded QuickStart courses — Plan Beyond Page Views, Build Meaningful Tracking, and Validate Your Data for Action in GA4 — plus both MeasureMastermind call recordings. All of that is already waiting for you.

Registration closes Wednesday, August 12 at midnight ET. After that, our team is going to be focused purely on delivering the workshop.

📊 AI-Ready Dashboards Your dashboard might make sense to you… but does it make sense to AI? 🤔 Most dashboards show the numbers, but they do not always explain the context behind those numbers. That’s where AI can get a little messy. It may summarize what it sees, but if your dashboard does not explain things like goals, definitions, benchmarks, traffic temperature, campaign changes, or known data issues, AI may start filling in the blanks for you. 😬 And we do not want AI guessing its way thr
