The Demand Letter Your Client Didn't Expect — And You Didn't Either

TL;DR: I'm going live next Tuesday, August 25 at 12 PM ET. It's free, and there's a checklist you can keep if you stay to the end. Register here.
Here is something that has been happening more and more lately in the world of digital marketing:
A business receives a legal demand letter stating that its tracking setup is collecting data incorrectly and violating the law.
They call their agency, which set it up, to understand what went wrong.
Or they bring in the marketing lead who hired the agency.
Either way, there’s a lot of ’splainin’ to do.
A sloppy consent setup could land right on your desk, too.
In this week’s video, I ran a free scan with Cookiebot's Cookie Checker on a public website. It found 52 trackers.
Two of its three consent checks failed.
The report returned a high-risk verdict.
It could happen to any one of us.
But if the wrong person discovers this vulnerability before you or your clients do?
That’s when the demand letters start coming in.
Watch the full walkthrough to learn how to run a 2-minute scan on any public site to check whether consent is set up properly.
I’m going live August 25th to discuss this trend
Just like in my last email about AI hallucinations, this is an emerging trend in digital marketing unfolding before our eyes yet hidden in plain sight for many agencies and clients.
These trends cost companies real money in wasted spend, and real reputation damage when the wrong parties find them first.
On August 25, we’re covering all of these trends, and how to solve for the consequences.
The angle we are taking is “How to Find a Problem Clients Will Pay to Fix on Any Website in 10 Minutes.”
We’ll show you tools you can use, like Cookie Checker (plus up to a dozen more that you’ve never heard of), as well as the techniques to use them proactively in your business.
Register for the August 25 session.
