I've been ignoring maintenance
I'm writing this Sunday night. It goes live tomorrow.
That's not how this newsletter usually works - I normally have these done weeks out. But I didn't. And honestly, I didn't even want to.
Not because I'm burned out. The opposite.
About a month ago I installed Claude Code, and something shifted. I've been in build mode ever since. The kind of build mode where switching to maintenance tasks feels almost physically wrong.
Here's what that's actually looked like: I've built workflows around everything I used to procrastinate on. Newsletters. Social posts. Sales pages. Resource pages. YouTube scripts. ClickUp management. There's now a version of me that handles all of this faster than I did before - and often better.
The results have been a little wild. YouTube videos getting noticed. Sponsorship conversations starting up. Social engagement climbing. Resources that had been sitting around for months are actually getting downloaded now.
It's the most fun I've had working in at least 10 years. Maybe closer to 15 or 20 - back when everything about internet marketing was new and every day felt like discovering something nobody had found yet.
The mindset shift that made it possible:
Stop asking "which AI tool should I use?" That question loops forever. Start asking "what process in my work is slow, painful, or keeps getting pushed to tomorrow?" That question has answers. Usually pretty good ones.
Once I found that frame, I stopped debating and started building. And I haven't really stopped since.
So instead of forcing a topic this week - I'm just telling you what I'm working on. Because maybe you're in the same place. Maybe something is clicking for you too and you're deep in it. Or maybe you're still in the "which tool do I use" spiral and it feels exhausting.
Either way, I'd genuinely like to hear from you. Hit reply and tell me what's happening on your end. And let me know - is this the kind of thing you want me to write about? The AI workflow stuff, the build process, what I'm actually building? Or do you want me to stay in the measurement lane? Helps me figure out what's actually useful to share.
Here's what I'm most excited to tell you: everything I've been building surfaces in April. All of it. Whether you're interested in the ad side, the measurement side, or just want to see what's possible when you go all-in on build mode - it's coming next month.
Stay tuned.
